Job Description: Job Description: JIRA Developer and Administrator Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced JIRA Developer and Administrator to manage, configure, and optimize our JIRA instance. This role will involve customizing workflows, managing user permissions, providing technical support, and ensuring the overall stability and performance of the JIRA platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in JIRA administration, an in-depth understanding of Agile project management, and a passion for helping teams improve productivity and collaboration through effective tools and processes. Key Responsibilities: JIRA Administration: Manage the day-to-day operation of JIRA, including user management, permission schemes, project configurations, and workflows. Customize and optimize JIRA instances to meet business needs. Set up and configure JIRA dashboards, filters, and reports to provide insightful data to stakeholders. Maintain and update JIRA s system settings and configurations as needed, ensuring that the system remains compliant with company policies and standards. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to JIRA instances, including bugs, performance problems, and user access issues. JIRA Development and Customization: Design and implement custom workflows, screens, and fields for projects within JIRA. Develop JIRA Automation rules to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Integrate JIRA with other tools (e.g., Confluence, Bitbucket, Slack, etc.) using APIs or third-party plugins. Develop custom JIRA plugins and scripts using JIRA s REST API and ScriptRunner (or similar tools). Create custom reports and dashboards to provide real-time tracking and data insights. Collaboration and Training: Provide ongoing training and support to end users on how to effectively use JIRA and best practices. Collaborate with teams across different departments to gather requirements and improve workflows in JIRA. Assist in the onboarding of new users and teams to the JIRA platform. Prepare documentation for JIRA workflows, configurations, and automation processes. System Monitoring and Maintenance: Regularly monitor JIRA performance, ensuring system health and optimizing performance where necessary. Perform regular backups of the JIRA instance and ensure recovery plans are in place. Keep up to date with JIRA updates, patches, and new features, applying them as needed. Security and Permissions: Define, manage, and enforce user roles and permissions within JIRA to ensure that appropriate access levels are maintained. Ensure that data security and privacy standards are adhered to for all JIRA projects and users. Required Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience with JIRA administration, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of JIRA workflows, custom fields, screens, permissions, and schemes. Experience with JIRA APIs, automation tools, and scripting (e.g., ScriptRunner, Groovy, or similar technologies). Familiarity with JIRA Software, JIRA Service Management, and JIRA Core. Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and understanding of the role JIRA plays in an Agile environment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users. Experience with JIRA integrations, e.g., with Confluence, Bitbucket, Slack, etc., is a plus. Knowledge of relational databases and SQL for reporting and troubleshooting purposes is beneficial. Preferred Qualifications: Atlassian Certified JIRA Administrator (ACP-600) or equivalent certification. Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with cloud-based JIRA instances (e.g., JIRA Cloud). Knowledge of other Atlassian tools like Confluence, Bitbucket, or Trello. Familiarity with agile project management frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, etc.). Education and Experience: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience. 3+ years of experience in JIRA administration and/or development.
