Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Installation and Configuration:

  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) on servers and end-user devices.
  • Manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Oversee cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) and manage virtual machines.

User and access management

  • Create, manage, and delete user accounts and permissions, often through Active Directory or similar tools.
  • Handle employee onboarding and offboarding procedures related to IT access.
  • Manage email and communication services like Microsoft 365.

Maintenance and Monitoring:

  • Monitor system performance and logs to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Perform routine system audits and scheduled maintenance.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network problems.

Technical skills

  • Operating systems: Expertise in Windows Server is a must.
  • Networking: Strong understanding of network concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.
  • Virtualization and cloud: Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, AWS, or Azure is increasingly important.
  • Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation.
  • Security: Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, security tools, and data protection.
  • Database management: Familiarity with SQL and experience managing database systems.

Troubleshooting:

Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network problems to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.

Security Management:

Implement and manage user access controls, perform security tests, and ensure adherence to security protocols.

User Support:

Provide technical support to employees, manage user accounts, and create user-training documents.

Documentation:

Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, settings, and procedures.

Backup and Recovery:

Ensure regular system backups and manage secure network access.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

  • 5+ years of professional experience in enterprise network engineering.
  • Certifications highly preferred: Cisco CCNP (or higher), Palo Alto PCNSE, Fortinet NSE4/7, AWS/Azure Network Specialty, Prefer

    Microsoft Certification course

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work in on-call rotation for critical incident support.
