Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies and stakeholders.
  • Navigate and understand government procurement policies, RFPs and tendering processes.
  • Identify and pursue potential government clients, analyze their needs and project requirements.
  • Develop and execute lead generation strategies targeting government departments and PSUs.
  • Conduct meetings with clients to gather requirements and present tailored solutions.
  • Lead needs assessment activities and align offerings with client expectations.
  • Plan and implement sales strategies to achieve or exceed revenue targets.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (technical, legal, finance) to support sales objectives.
  • Deliver customized presentations and product demonstrations to government clients.
  • Lead end-to-end contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and timely closures.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial proposal to final agreement and onboarding.
  • Ensure high client satisfaction and proactively address post-sale issues or concerns.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing government clients.
  • Maintain accurate sales records and prepare regular performance reports.
  • Analyze sales and client data to identify trends, gaps and areas for improvement.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Bachelors degree in

    B.Tech / B.E / BCA / BSc (IT)

    .
  • Postgraduate degree such as

    MBA / PGDBM in Marketing

    or a related field would be an added advantage.
  • 3 to 10 years

    of proven sales experience, ideally working with government clients or in public sector verticals.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex & long sales cycles.
  • Proficiency with

    CRM tools

    (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho CRM, etc.)
