Job Overview

Qualcomm India is seeking a Storage and Backup engineer with 5+ years of experience in managing multi-vendor large scale Storage and Backup systems with Strong programming skills in python, Shell-scripting Familiarity with Golang is a plus!

This person will be a member of a global 24/7/365 IT infrastructure operations team focused on enterprise Storage, backup, and recovery. This role specifically is focused primarily on Automating, administrating and providing support for Enterprise Storage & data protection Our IT engineers can expect to work with cutting edge technology in a large, fast paced, and dynamic enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

Worked on writing Unit and Integration test cases for the developments using Python (preferably Test driven development) Proficient in developing rest APIs Experience in Agile development methodologies and release management techniques Ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently as well as in a team. Provides T1/T2 support to the storage and backup technologies infrastructure. 24/7-hour on call participation Provision and configure storage volumes, disk pools, raid groups, over various storage systems (EMC, Hitachi, NetApp, Dell, Pure) Efficiently handle performance issues on storage and backup systems Monitoring Backup systems for backup/restore failures and resolution on daily basis. Involvement in P1/P2 incidents and collaborate with multiple teams for resolution. Addressing Tickets (incidents and requests) in ServiceNow Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and or technologies Skilled in generating custom reports/dashboards and Knowledgebase documentation Working with various vendors Prospective candidate should be technically sound in the following Provision, migration and decommission of Storage and Backup systems NetApp cluster modes, Dell Isilon and Pure Storage Cohesity Data Protect and Dell EMC Networker Automate systems administration tasks utilizing internal tools & configuration management tools. Tape libraries from vendors like Oracle and Spectra logic or similar Snapmirrors/Snapvaults and Disaster Recovery (including Disaster Recovery of Backup catalogs) Knowledge on OS (Linux and/or Solaris) Prospective candidates having following is an added advantage. Candidates should have a passion for automation tools, Machine Learning tools and technologies that improve storage infrastructure and provisioning) Basic knowledge on Splunk queries and Splunk Dashboards Certifications from major vendors like NetApp, Dell and Cohesity. Any other skills that support storage and backup, not covered above. Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations. Basic knowledge on Ansible is desired."

Min. Qualifications".

Manage systems to provide insight into utilization, and configuration Ability to manage/handle Sev 1 tickets and work in night shifts. Sound knowledge in end-to-end backup/storage activities Analytical/problem solving ability. Time management and organizational skills Ability and desire to learn new skills quickly. Preferred Qualifications

" 3-4 years of relevant Backup technologies.
Proficiency in Python programming language. Strong understanding of data science concepts and methodologies. Experience in designing and implementing scalable data science architectures. Willingness to learn new technologies and processes, quickly and apply them. Ability to work seamlessly with both vendors and internal stakeholders Collaborate with cross-functional team to achieve common objectives Identify and drive efficiency improvement initiatives Ability to escalate critical issues to internal and/or 3rd-parties, as appropriate, and communicate status and resolution to the team Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently while making sound decisions Comfortable working in a performance-based and structured environment while demonstrating high ethical standards Good knowledge of industry tools"
