Job Description

Role Overview: As the BLDC Motor Firmware Manager at Blue Star, your primary responsibility will be to lead the development, validation, and deployment of firmware for BLDC motor control systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency of motor controllers, aligning with product requirements and timelines. Your role will involve leading a team of firmware engineers and collaborating closely with hardware, mechanical, and system integration teams. Key Responsibilities: - Define and implement control algorithms for BLDC motors, including sensor-based and sensorless systems. - Develop PWM control strategies, field-oriented control (FOC), and optimize torque/speed. - Ensure firmware compatibility with various motor types such as fan motors, compressor motors, and pump motors. - Optimize firmware for efficiency, thermal management, and acoustic noise reduction. - Analyze test results, identify issues, and implement corrective actions. - Ensure compliance with safety, reliability, and regulatory standards (CE, RE, IEC). - Collaborate with hardware, system, and mechanical teams to ensure firmware compatibility and integration. - Define firmware development schedules, track project progress, and ensure on-time delivery. - Report project status to senior management and stakeholders. - Introduce new algorithms, tools, and processes to enhance firmware performance and development efficiency. - Benchmark against industry standards and emerging motor control technologies. Qualifications Required: - B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of experience. - In-depth knowledge of BLDC motor control algorithms, including FOC, V/f control, and sensorless control. - Proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming for microcontrollers (STM32, TI, or similar). - Experience with RTOS, PWM timers, ADCs, and communication protocols (UART, CAN, Modbus). - Hands-on experience with motor test benches, data acquisition, and tuning firmware parameters. - Knowledge of firmware version control (Git, SVN) and development life cycle processes. - Understanding of PCB schematics, circuit behavior, and basic electronic components. - Experience with firmware over-the-air (FOTA) updates, power management, and secure boot loaders is advantageous. - Strong leadership and team management skills. - Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. - Effective communication and coordination with cross-functional teams. - Ownership mindset and ability to drive projects to completion under tight timelines. - Innovative and proactive in suggesting improvements in firmware or process.,
