Intellectual Property Rights - Senior Executive/Executive

Job Summary

Able to provide IP support as well as proactively identify potential IP-driven opportunities in Europe, Canada, the US, & emerging markets. The role is primarily responsible for providing IP support and advice on intellectual property matters for ongoing projects independently.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Well-versed knowledge of patent law provisions and basic understanding of the regulatory law of the EU & emerging markets (BRM).

2. Supporting R&D, portfolio, and business functions with IP support and providing clearance to the formulation strategy and trade-dress/packaging strategies.

3. Devising and reviewing design-around strategy, invalidation strategy and Freedom to Operate (FTO) strategies, as well as highlighting the IP risk to the stakeholders.

4. Preparation of responses for the examination reports of patent offices.

5. Preparation of patent landscape report.

6. Able to carry out patent searches by using paid as well as free patent search databases.

7. Able to carry out IP due diligence activity (review of the dossier, landscape report, and IP-based agreements) independently for in-license projects.

8. Able to do patent listing, patent tracking, patent prosecution tracking, and maintaining internal IPR data.

9. Able to identify critical IP and highlight the same to the manager and other stakeholders in a timely manner.

10. Working with various stakeholders, including formulation scientists, regulatory affairs, the portfolio team, and the commercial team.

11. To keep monitoring the IP scenario and competitive intelligence and to timely update about the changed scenario in order to take timely action for upcoming launches.

12. Able to do prior art searches and prepare documentation for filing third-party observations (TPO), pre-grant and post-grant opposition as and when required.
