Job Description

As an Instrumentation Engineer, your role involves reading and interpreting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) for system design, troubleshooting, and project execution. You will design, maintain, and improve instrumentation systems used in industrial processes to ensure smooth and efficient operation of equipment. Your key responsibilities include: - Reading, interpreting, and analyzing Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) for system design and troubleshooting. - Developing and implementing instrumentation specifications, including sensors, controllers, transmitters, and control valves. - Collaborating with design and project engineering teams to ensure alignment with project requirements and safety standards. - Conducting field inspections and technical evaluations for correct installation and operation. - Assisting in the commissioning and start-up of instrumentation systems in new facilities. - Ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. - Troubleshooting and resolving instrumentation issues during maintenance or projects. - Participating in safety assessments and collaborating with other engineering disciplines to optimize system performance. - Maintaining accurate documentation and providing training and support to operators and maintenance teams. Qualifications required for this position include: - Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. - Minimum 2 years of experience in instrumentation engineering, with a focus on reading and interpreting P&IDs. - Strong knowledge of process control systems, instrumentation devices, and industrial automation. - Familiarity with CCOE requirements, industry standards (ISA, API, IEC), and software tools for instrumentation design. - Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, communication, and team collaboration skills. - Knowledge of Hazardous Area Classification and related safety regulations is a plus. Preferred skills for this role include hands-on experience in DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems, proficiency in instrumentation calibration and loop checking, and experience in the oil & gas, chemical, or power plant industry.
