Job Description

Establishes processes that prevent or reduce the likelihood/frequency of failures. Develops reliability plans and preventive maintenance programs to minimize recurring performance issues. Performs Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for reliability issues . Applies Risk Based Inspection (RBI), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and/or Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to reliability activities Uses reliability modeling and Life-Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) in combination with engineering analysis to design equipment or recommend maintenance methods for improvement. Supports medium sized clients/customers and makes significant contributions to more complex projects under periodic supervision. General knowledge of the work function and Chevron s practices. About the position: The Instrument and Electrical Reliability Engineering (IE RE) position in Chevron s ENGINE Center provides instrumentation and electrical asset support to Chevron s operational refineries and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) facilities. This role works collaboratively across multiple disciplines including Engineering, Operations, Maintenance and Reliability to ensure asset performance across electrical power systems and equipment within Chevron s complex process facilities. This role forms part of a larger Reliability and Integrity team in Chevron s ENGINE Center. Key responsibilities: Provide reliability integrity support to instrumentation and electrical assets within Chevron complex process facilities Supervise the Operational Excellence (OE) programs that make up the Facilities Integrity and Reliability Management (FIRM) Process Provide technical support to Asset Operating Area Unit Reliability Briefs focused on identifying and developing solutions for reliability threats and poor performing instrumentation and electrical assets Provide analytical support for reliability and integrity programs across the Chevron assets Support maintenance strategy development and improvement initiatives, develop optimize maintenance strategies, develop and maintain maintenance procedures process, manage technical analysis of threats procurement queries for instrument electrical deficiencies, conduct replacement in kind (RIK) assessments, and perform valve health monitoring Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (such as Operations, Technical, Routine Maintenance, Turnaround and Projects) to achieve the Reliability Engineering Team, department and asset goals to improve asset reliability Support the facilitation and completion of Chevron reliability studies, capital projects and fixed equipment integrity initiatives Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes and standards as well as applicable Chevron standards, instructions, and guidelines Support turnaround instrumentation and electrical scope development Facilitate the application and use of reliability tools and work processes to identify gaps, prioritize opportunities, and develop recommendations to improve asset performance and operational availability Support the investigation and troubleshooting of instrumentation and electrical equipment failures through root cause analysis Perform reliability analytics using statistical software to help determine probability of failure to prioritize maintenance work, justify spare parts stocking decisions, or develop options for selection of project alternatives Required Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in instrumentation or electrical engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) from a deemed/recognized (AICTE) university Minimum of 3-10 years relevant experience performing IE Reliability Engineering in an Oil Gas operating environment Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Functions is preferred Knowledge of refinery and LNG process technologies will be highly regarded
