Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Manager to lead and manage our book sales operations. The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sales strategies, building strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and institutional clients, and driving revenue growth across all publishing categories. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve company sales targets and expand market share. Identify new market opportunities including bookstores, libraries, educational institutions, and online platforms. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships (retailers, distributors, wholesalers). Manage a sales team, provide training, motivation, and performance reviews. Analyze market trends, sales data, and customer feedback to refine sales strategies. Collaborate with marketing, editorial, and distribution teams to align sales campaigns with new releases and seasonal promotions. Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors and partners. Represent the company at book fairs, conferences, and industry events. Monitor competitor activity and provide timely reporting to senior management. Forecast sales performance and prepare regular reports on sales metrics. Requirements: Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Publishing, or related field (Masters degree is a plus). Proven experience (3+ years) in sales, preferably in the publishing or media industry. Strong understanding of the book market, distribution channels, and sales lifecycle. Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Proficiency in CRM software, MS Office Suite, and sales analytics tools. Ability to travel for client meetings, events, and trade shows. Preferred Experience: Knowledge of digital publishing platforms and online book sales strategies. Experience dealing with academic institutions or government contracts (if applicable). Existing network in the book retail/distribution industry. Location - Bangalore, Mysore, Udupi, and Karnataka
