Senior Linux Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

• Linux Server Management:

  Install, configure, and maintain Ubuntu Server environments for various applications and databases.

• Service Delivery:

  Deploy and manage application and database services, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

• High Availability:

  Design and implement high availability (HA) solutions for critical Linux services using clustering, failover, and replication techniques.

• Security Hardening:

  Apply best practices for Linux security, including hardening, vulnerability management, patching, and compliance using tools like osquery.

• Patching & Updates:

  Develop and execute patch management strategies to ensure timely updates and minimal downtime.

• Monitoring & Observability:

  Integrate and maintain observability and monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) to ensure proactive system health management and alerting.

• Automation & Scripting:

  Create automation scripts for routine tasks and configuration management. Server deployment using Ansible and Terraform.

• Collaboration:

  Work closely with DevOps, engineering, and security teams to support deployment pipelines and incident response.

• Documentation & Mentoring:

  Document procedures, share best practices, and mentor junior team members as needed.

Requirement:

• Experience:

  10+ years as a Linux Administrator, with extensive hands-on experience in Ubuntu Server environments.

• Technical Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of Ubuntu Server installation, configuration, and administration.
• Proven experience delivering and supporting diverse application and database services on Linux.
• Strong expertise in Linux high availability, clustering, and disaster recovery.
• Security hardening and patch management experience, including use of osquery or similar tools.
• Proficiency in monitoring and observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry.
• Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages.

• Soft Skills:

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred:

• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with

  HashiCorp Nomad

  for workload orchestration.
• Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Experience with compliance, auditing, and regulatory frameworks.
