We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee power transmission and automation projects, ensuring successful execution from initiation to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing project scope, budget, schedules, and technical deliverables while coordinating with stakeholders, engineering teams, vendors, and regulatory bodies. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage high-voltage power transmission and automation projects, including substation automation, SCADA, EMS/DMS, and protection systems. Develop project plans, schedules, and risk management strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective execution. Oversee the design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of transmission and automation systems. Coordinate with utilities, regulatory agencies, EPC contractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with technical and safety standards. Ensure adherence to industry standards such as IEEE, IEC, NERC, and ISO for power system operations. Lead project progress reviews, risk assessments, and change management processes. Manage project documentation, contracts, and reporting to stakeholders. Ensure proper integration of SCADA, automation, and protection systems with existing infrastructure. Implement HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) best practices to ensure workplace safety and regulatory compliance. Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams, ensuring alignment with company goals. Required Qualifications 10-15 years or more of experience in managing power transmission and automation projects. Strong knowledge of high-voltage substations, transmission lines, SCADA, and automation technologies. Experience in project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and contract management. Familiarity with SCADA/DMS systems, automation protocols (IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus), and grid protection schemes. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, SAP, etc.). Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with utilities, EPC contractors, or power system integrators. Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for power system automation. A snapshot of the day We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Substation Control and Protection - Testing and Commissioning Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of substation control and protection systems to ensure their proper functioning and reliability. The candidate should have strong technical capabilities, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Conduct testing and commissioning activities for substation control and protection systems, including relay testing, scheme testing, and protection coordination studies. Configuration, parametrization, goosing, interoperability, and integration of Protection IEDs with SAS systems. The design, engineering and implementation of substation protection systems to optimize monitoring, control, and protection functions within electrical substations. Responsible for preparation & approval of engineering document like FDS, SLD, PSLD, Signal List, Bill of Materials, General Arrangements (internal & External), Panel heat load calculation. Preparation of Testing & Commissioning documents such as FAT, SAT, Test Reports, and Schedule Plans. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to substation control and protection systems. Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of substation control and protection systems with overall substation design. Provide technical support and training to junior engineers and field personnel. Experience in supporting the factory during manufacturing, mounting of equipment & wiring, testing and pre-FAT test & FAT witness. Knowledge in cubicle AC & DC load calculation Selection of suitable equipment/material. oriented: In-depth knowledge of substation control and protection systems, including relay settings, protection schemes, and control logic. Strong understanding of substation automation systems, networking and protocols, such as IEC 61850, Modbus TCP/IP. Knowledge of Process Bus Technology. Experience with substation testing equipment, such as relay test sets, power system simulators, and fault recorders. Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting relay and protection coordination studies. Familiarity with substation design standards and regulations. Parameterization, testing and commissioning of IEDs like Protection relays and Bay Control Units (BCUs). Experience with protection & control equipment and solutions preferably from Siemens, Alstom, SEL, GE, Hitachi, ABB make IEDs. Retrofitting and troubleshooting of Protection IEDs, including the replacement of CRPs. Willingness to travel as the role demands a minimum of 50-70% travel overseas. Knowledge of Major AIS & GIS components like Circuit breakers, Isolators, CSD, PDM & Interlocks scheme. Knowledge of Transformers/Reactors & associated Conditional Monitoring Devices etc. (Preferred) Planning and execution of training courses and customer presentations. Software Skills: Proficiency in using substation testing software, such as Omicron Test Universe, Doble Protection Suite, or similar. More weightage for candidates with hand on experience in substation automation software and protocols, including SAS systems and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3). We dont need superheroes, just super minds: This position requires a bachelors degree or equivalent with background in Electrical Engineering. Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or related field. 3-6years of experience in testing and commissioning of substation control and protection systems. Professional certifications, such as Certified Relay Technician (CRT) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP), are desirable. - Responsible for the export & domestic customer inspections. - Should have sound knowledge - how of IEC , IS, and Routine testing of MV switchgear panels. - Should adhere to quality policy of organization, Quality requirements of products. - To plan and manage daily and monthly work load, inspection preparedness and participation in the client inspections. - Should have experience of Internal ISO audits, EHS audits, EnMS audits, External ISO audits, Factory approvals audits . - Should maintain and ensure EHS on shopfloor during day to day activities. - Should give proper feedback and drive continuous improvements to reduce the NCC. - He should be responsible for calibration and upgradation of testing equipment's. Major Responsibilities : A] Numerical relay expertise: 1. Capable to do programming and checking of its correctness for MV panels during internal testing with respect to drawings. 2. Capable to identify drawing errors while preparation of programming files if any. 3. Capable to do programming of makes like Siemens, ABB, Schneider, Artech, SEL and other numerical relays. 4. Capable to establish communications of relays with goose, IEC 61850, Modbus and ethernet switches during client inspections. 5. Capable to do programming of I/O modules and RTU modules. 6. Capable to do programming of Ethernet switches, Transducers etc. 7. Capable to create correct programming IEC station files with provide IP address, signal lists and other necessary requirements in communication. 8. Should have knowledge about software, relay drivers for programming of various relays as per requirements. 9. Responsible for closure of site complaints due to incorrect programming issues. 10. Should demonstrate client inspections with performing all relay testing with required relay testing kits. B] Test Field Activities: 1. Performing routine testing of MV Panels as per relevant IEC & IS standard and customer requirement in order to ensure the best quality product. 2. Trouble shooting and solving the issues during routine testing of panels. 3. Providing feedback to concerned execution engineer regarding drawing related issues. 4. Good knowledge of EHS guideline to be followed during electrical / mechanical testing. C] Customer Inspection: 1. Ensure readiness of the Panels before customer inspections 2. Submission of compliance and incorporation of necessary changes suggested by customer during inspection and ensuring the same in the Panel before dispatch. 3. Preparation and submission of inspection reports, MOM, Panel test reports, RTCs to the customer in addition with calibration report, bought out component TCs etc D] Skills 1. Good business communication skills, 2. Knowledge of Windows Office software like word, excel, ppt etc., 3. Basic understanding required about EHS guideline to be followed during electrical / mechanical testing. Qualification : Degree Electrical/Electronic Engineer with 7 to 8 years of experience.
