ICU Nurse

The ICU Nurse provides critical care and close monitoring to patients who are seriously ill or injured. You will work in the Intensive Care Unit of hospitals, offering life-saving care and acting as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Your role will require advanced skills in managing critical health conditions and operating specialized equipment. In this role, your key responsibilities will include monitoring and assessing critically ill patients, administering medications, fluids, and treatments according to physician orders, and managing advanced life-support equipment such as ventilators and infusion pumps. You will need to react quickly to changes in patient conditions, including performing CPR and other life-saving procedures, and collaborate with the medical team during emergencies. Operating and troubleshooting advanced medical devices, performing diagnostic tests, and interpreting results to adjust care plans as necessary will also be part of your duties. Additionally, you will maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and hospital policies, and act as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers. To qualify for this position, you should have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred), an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, and certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). A Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification is preferred. Ideally, you should have 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a critical care or acute care setting. Key skills that will be essential for this role include strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, the ability to handle high-stress situations and make quick decisions, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
