IBM MQ MFT (Managed File Transfer) Specialist

Key Responsibilities

IBM MQ MFT Development & Support

• Install, configure, and upgrade

  IBM MQ MFT software

  across environments.
• Create, configure, and migrate

  MFT agents, resource monitors, and file transfer jobs

  .
• Perform

  unit testing

  and support

  integration testing (SIT/UAT)

  for MFT jobs.
• Handle

  file transfer automation

  , troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

System Administration & Scripting

• Work extensively with

  Linux and Windows OS

  for MFT operations.
• Use

  shell scripting / batch scripting

  for automation, monitoring, and operational tasks.
• Manage file system permissions, logs, OS jobs, and troubleshooting commands.
  

Integration & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Coordinate with multiple teams:
  Application teams Infrastructure teams Testing teams Project management
• Ensure smooth deployment, migration, and release coordination.
  
• Provide technical guidance and resolve issues during integration.
  

Project Leadership

• Independently drive MFT migration, upgrades, and integration programs.
  
• Ensure end-to-end delivery within planned timelines.
  
• Prepare documentation, implementation plans, and status updates.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 6+ years of overall IT experience

  with at least

  4+ years of IBM MQMFT

  hands-on experience.
• Strong understanding of

  MFT architecture

  , agents, monitors, and transfer jobs.
• Experience in

  installing, configuring, and upgrading

  IBM MQ MFT software.
• Strong knowledge of

  Linux/Windows OS

  , commands, and scripting.
• Good understanding of

  IBM MQ components

  such as queue managers, channels, listeners, and logs.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for MFT failures and system issues.
  
• Excellent

  coordination, communication, and stakeholder management

  skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead integration/program activities.
  

Good to Have

• Experience in

  MQ administration

  beyond MFT.
• Understanding of HA/DR, clustering, or MQ security.
  
• Knowledge of CI/CD deployment tools.
