Job Description

designing, calculating, and specifying heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for buildings

Key responsibilities

Design and planning:
Create detailed HVAC system designs, including schematics and blueprints, using tools like CAD software.
Calculations and selection:
Perform load calculations, duct sizing, and select appropriate equipment such as chillers, AHUs, and pumps.
Project coordination:
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and coordinate with other trades (e.g., electrical, plumbing).
Compliance and standards:
Ensure all designs adhere to local and international codes, such as ASHRAE standards, and meet energy efficiency and safety benchmarks.
Site inspections:
Conduct site visits to oversee installation, assess system performance, and resolve issues.
Documentation:
Prepare project reports, equipment schedules, and other necessary documentation.
Technical support:
Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshoot problems during and after project installation.
