HVAC Design Engineer - 3 to 9 years experience

Job Title: HVAC Design Engineer

Location: Chennai

Experience Level: 3 to 5 & 6 to 9 yrs

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop 3D CAD designs for plastic injection-molded HVAC components using CATIA V5 R24.

· Perform part design using constrained sketches and Boolean operations with inner/outer methodology.

· Work within product structures applying multi-skeleton methodology.

· Execute detailed HVAC part designs adhering to design standards, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA) requirements.

· Prepare technical proposals and support with presentations.

· Create detailed drawings of HVAC parts and assemblies with GD&T, aligned with manufacturing processes and measurement techniques.

· Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis.

· Perform self-checks to identify and resolve CAD quality, DFM, and DFA issues.

· Carry out vehicle packaging studies and propose concept modifications as required.

· Manage design data within PLM systems.

· Ensure on-time and within-budget completion of tasks.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or related field.

· Proficiency in CATIA V5 (R24) with strong hands-on experience in 3D CAD modeling.

· Knowledge of plastic part design, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up.

· Experience with DFM/DFA principles and HVAC systems in automotive applications.

· Familiarity with PLM tools for data management.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
