Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Application Engineer (Mechanical) having expertise in designing and developing HVAC systems, performing load calculations, and creating technical documentation like drawings and specifications. This role also involves providing technical support to customers and internal teams, collaborating with other engineers, and ensuring systems comply with industry codes and regulations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design & Development:

  Lead the design, development, and optimization of refrigeration systems, including blast freezers, cold rooms, and clean rooms, using best practices in mechanical engineering.

• Calculations & Analysis:

  Perform detailed engineering calculations, including heat load calculations, pressure drop analysis for ducting and piping, and pipe/duct sizing to determine precise heating/cooling requirements.

• Equipment Selection:

  Select optimal components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, fans, and insulation systems (e.g., PU panels) based on project specifications and energy efficiency goals.

• Documentation & Drawing:

  Prepare and review detailed technical documentation, including Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), general layouts, assembly drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM), and design basis reports.

• Compliance & Standards:

  Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., GMP, WHO, ISO, ASHRAE) and local safety systems/grounding requirements.

• Collaboration & Support:

  Coordinate with cross-functional teams (sales, electrical, civil, automation, project execution teams) to ensure seamless project delivery and installation.

• Troubleshooting & Validation:

  Conduct operational testing, validate designs through simulations and tests, and provide expert technical support for installation, commissioning, and maintenance teams.

Desired Skill Set:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• A minimum of 4-7 years of hands-on experience in the design, installation, or project management of industrial refrigeration or cold storage systems.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, refrigerants, and piping best practices.
• Strong understanding of HVAC principles and systems.
• Proficiency in HVAC design software like AutoCAD or Revit.
• Familiarity with HVAC load calculation software (e.g., Trane Trace, Carrier HAP).
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Prior experience working with well-known cold room or refrigeration companies.
