Position Overview

The HR Manager will oversee all human resource functions to ensure the effective management of personnel in a manufacturing environment. This includes recruitment, training, compliance, employee relations, and performance management. The role demands close coordination with production, design, and maintenance teams to ensure workforce efficiency and alignment with company goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Staffing

  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies for technical and non-technical positions (production, design engineers, welders, machinists, etc.).
  • Manage end-to-end hiring process including job postings, interviews, background verification, and onboarding.
  • Liaise with technical managers to identify manpower needs and skill gaps.

2. Training & Development

  • Identify skill enhancement needs specific to heat treatment processes, safety, and furnace technology.
  • Organize technical and behavioural training programs in coordination with external trainers or institutes.
  • Develop career progression plans and performance improvement programs.

3. Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Maintain a positive and productive work environment on the shop floor and in offices.
  • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Plan employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and team-building activities.

4. Compliance & Legal

  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, factory act, ESI, PF, gratuity, and other statutory regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and coordinate with government departments for inspections and audits.
  • Develop and implement HR policies in line with company values and legal standards.

5. Performance Management

  • Implement and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for various departments.
  • Conduct annual and periodic performance appraisals.
  • Support management in setting realistic and measurable performance targets.

6. Payroll & HR Administration

  • Supervise monthly payroll processing and ensure accuracy of attendance, overtime, and shift allowances.
  • Manage HRMS (Human Resource Management System) and employee database.
  • Oversee employee documentation, contracts, and record maintenance.

7. Safety, Health & Welfare

  • Coordinate with the Safety Officer to ensure workplace safety compliance.
  • Promote safety awareness among production staff and contractors.
  • Support welfare programs, canteen management, and medical facilities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:

    MBA / PGDM in HR or equivalent.
  • Experience:

    712 years of HR experience, preferably in a

    manufacturing or engineering industry

    ; exposure to

    heat treatment, heavy engineering, or industrial furnace manufacturing

    is an advantage.
  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of labour laws and statutory compliance.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient in MS Office and HRMS software.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams and shop floor workers.
