Individual Contributor HR Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Execute talent acquisition for retail roles via Naukri, local job fairs, and walk-ins
  • Conduct interviews, background checks, and issue offer letters; manage festive season hiring surges.
  • Design store-specific onboarding: orientation, uniforms, POS training, Induction and 30-day check-ins.

2. Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Handle daily employee queries, conflict resolution, and grievance redressal per POSH/Shop Act.
  • Run engagement initiatives: store recognition, Diwali events, R&R, Town hall events and quarterly pulse surveys.
  • Manage performance reviews: daily targets, monthly appraisals, and PIPs for underperformers.

3. Learning & Development

  • Develop retail-focused training: customer service, inventory management, and soft skills workshops.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for certifications (retail sales training); track ROI via sales uplift.
  • Support internal promotions and store transfers for career growth.
  • CCDP for the Personal Development of Employees

4. Compensation & Benefits (Sustain Phase)

  • Process monthly payroll, incentives, and statutory deductions (PF, ESI, PT).
  • Administer benefits: group Mediclaim, gratuity; benchmark salaries via retail surveys.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with Minimum Wages and Labor Laws.

5. Off-boarding & Retirement

  • Manage resignations, terminations, exit interviews, and full & final settlements.
  • Process retirement benefits (PF withdrawal, gratuity) and alumni referrals.
  • Analyze turnover and implement retention plans.

6. HR Strategy & Compliance

  • Maintain employee records in HRIS and ensure data privacy.
  • Prepare statutory filings: PF/ESI returns, Form 16, and annual audits.
  • Generate HR dashboards (time-to-hire, attrition rate) for leadership.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's/MBA in HR; PGDHRM, Experience in Beauty, Wellness and Fashion Categories are preferred.

Experience:

retail/Indian FMCG

Skills:

High-volume recruitment (Naukri, Indeed) - Payroll software - Excel for analytics English/Regional language fluency

Soft Skills:

Hands-on execution, empathy and adaptability.

Knowledge:

India Labour Laws: EPF, ESI, Shops & Establishments Act, POSH, Minimum Wages.
