Job Description

  • Recruitment and Staffing

    : Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent for academic and administrative roles. Oversee the end-to-end hiring process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding.
  • Employee Relations

    : Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting open communication. Ensure fair and consistent application of HR policies.
  • Performance Management

    : Design and manage performance appraisal systems to evaluate employee performance, set goals, and identify development opportunities.
  • Training and Development

    : Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
  • Policy Development and Compliance

    : Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures in compliance with Indian labor laws and university regulations. Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, including PF, ESI, and other benefits.
  • Compensation and Benefits

    : Oversee payroll administration, compensation structures, and employee benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and fairness.
  • Workforce Planning

    : Collaborate with university leadership to align HR strategies with organizational goals, including workforce planning and succession management.
  • Employee Engagement

    : Initiate and lead employee engagement activities, wellness programs, and recognition initiatives to enhance morale and retention.
  • HR Analytics and Reporting

    : Maintain accurate HR records and generate reports to provide insights into workforce trends, recruitment metrics, and employee satisfaction.
  • Diversity and Inclusion

    : Promote a diverse and inclusive workplace by implementing initiatives that support equality and cultural sensitivity.

Qualifications

  • Education

    : Master's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Additional certifications in HR (e.g., SHRM, PHRi) are preferred.
  • Experience

    : 10-15 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role. Experience in the education sector is highly desirable.
  • Skills

    :
    • Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws and HR best practices.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
    • Proven ability to manage conflict and foster a collaborative work environment.
    • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) and MS Office Suite.
    • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
    • High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Attributes

Work Environment

  • Location

    : Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India
  • Work Schedule

    : Full-time, with flexibility to attend to urgent HR matters outside regular hours.
  • Reporting

    : The HR Manager will report to the Vice-Chancellor or designated senior leadership.
