Job Description

Role & responsibilities Develop Health & Safety strategies and plans along with HSE team at Suzlon 1. Recommend, develop and maintain HSE policy, standards, guidelines and procedures as applicable throughout the company in line with the corporate requirement and national regulatory environment. 2. Monitor and assess risks associated with tools and equipment, job sites and work environments. Identify possible ways to reduce them. 3. Prepare management reports, including HSE Bulletins, Global HSE Report and Newsletters. Develop annual operating plans 1. Monitor & Measure HSE performance by examining the HSE leading and lagging indicators. 2. Collect, check and verify the reports and injury logs shared within the organization on man-hours and other HSE parameters. 3. Create systems for capturing critical HSE parameters. 4. Consolidate and create analytical report on HSE trends and implement actions to improve performance assessment of HSE. 5. Ensure compliance with health & safety law through inspections and investigations. Perform accident investigations to identify the root cause of accidents and ensure implementation of appropriate corrective action. 6. Conduct Internal and external safety audits to keep lookout on unsafe conditions and recommend improvements to maintain safe work environment. 7. Participate in HIARO & JSA activities to improve HSE systems across all Business Units. Sustainability System Implementation 1. Understand the requirements of various ESG Frameworks. 2. Identify HSE parameters for capturing data required for sustainability report. 3. Identify & develop system to capture missing HSE data for sustainability report. 4. Work closely with cross functional team to prepare ESG / Sustainability Report for Suzlon. 5. Identify improvement areas for HSE in various parameters. Training and People Management 1. Identify the training needs and design training program to provide safety awareness education. 2. Ensure execution of training plan with modules on general safety, fire fighting, work at height, mechanical and electrical safety, materials handling, usage of protective equipment, emergency preparedness, chemical safety, office safety etc. 3. Take feedback & review training execution time to time. 4. Coach Line managers and business heads to drive HSE culture and monitor HSE performance in line with Suzlon HSE Policy and HSE tracking mechanisms. 5. Develop and train people in HSE department to maintain a high performance team. Ensure compliance of all activities with all statutory and regulatory requirements 1. Monitor, analyze and implement all statutory requirements in the area of HSE and maintain compliance records. 2. Engage with relevant authorities and local bodies for the completion of relevant documentation and obtain requisite licences, clearances and certificates on a timely basis. 3. Ensure and involve in due diligence, timely audits and maintain records of compliance for both internal and external inspections. 4. Involvement in HSE certification audits like ISO 14001 & ISO 45001. 5. Develop HSE system and process in-line with ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Standard. Preferred candidate profile Bachelor of engineering Electrical / Mechanical / Civil ADIS / PDIS Industrial safety Understanding of ISO 45001 & 14001 management system NEBOSH IGC Job Profile Minimum 5 - 8 years of exp. in HSE field. (preferably at corporate) Able to prepare HSE MIS and various HSE reports / decks. Must collaborate with stakeholders and functions for driving safety excellence. Knowledge of relevant acts / rules. Implementing and monitoring Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Policy, Programs, and Procedures Conducting and ensuring worker/staff training in such as safety Laws and Regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment. Facilitate Identifying and eliminating unsafe practices and unsafe conditions through inspections and audits. Monitoring the compliance of all the EHS legal requirements and presenting the findings.
