Hostel Warden

Role & responsibilities

Ensure the safety, discipline, and well-being of all student-nurses.

Maintain a secure environment by managing building access and monitoring activity.

Conduct regular checks for safety, security, and cleanliness of the hostel premises.

Be available to handle emergencies and take rapid action when needed.

Daily Operations:

Oversee daily operations, including check-ins, attendance, and visitor management.

Liaise with kitchen staff to ensure timely and hygienic meal services.

Coordinate with the first aid team and ensure all necessary medical supplies are available and stocked.

Administration and Record Keeping:

Maintain records of residents, their contact information, and any necessary health records.

Manage room vacancies and assist with room allotments.

Monitor staff attendance and manage leave requests.

Liaison and Communication:

Act as a point of contact for student concerns, grievances, and issues.

Liaise with college administration, nursing instructors, and hospital medical staff, especially during emergencies.

Report incidents and provide feedback to the management.

Preferred candidate profile

Strong knowledge of nursing principles is often beneficial, along with prior experience as a nurse or hostel warden.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with students and staff.

Strong leadership and disciplinary skills.

Physical fitness and the ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure situations.

Proficiency in maintaining records and reports.
