HOSTEL HEAD

Job Purpose:

To manage and oversee all aspects of hostel operations, ensuring a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for students while maintaining discipline, hygiene, and a positive residential experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Hostel Administration & Operations

• Supervise daily hostel activities, including accommodation, housekeeping, maintenance, and food services.
• Maintain proper records of hostel occupancy, student details, and inventory.
• Coordinate with vendors, maintenance staff, and security for smooth functioning of the hostel.
• Monitor hostel budget and ensure cost-effective operations.

2. Student Welfare & Discipline

• Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for students.
• Address student grievances and resolve conflicts fairly.
• Enforce hostel rules and regulations to ensure discipline and safety.
• Organize orientation sessions and counselling for hostel residents.

3. Safety & Security

• Ensure proper security measures, including regular checks and CCTV monitoring.
• Conduct fire drills, emergency preparedness training, and maintain first-aid facilities.
• Liaise with local authorities or emergency services when required.

4. Communication & Coordination

• Act as a bridge between students, parents, and school/college management.
• Provide regular updates to parents on their ward’s wellbeing when necessary.
• Prepare and submit monthly reports on hostel activities and issues to management.

5. Events & Community Building

• Plan and organize recreational, cultural, and educational activities to build community spirit.
• Promote values such as respect, responsibility, and cooperation among residents.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Administration, or a related field (preferred).
• Prior experience in hostel management or student welfare roles.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle emergencies and make quick, sound decisions.
• Familiarity with safety standards and child protection policies.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
