Job Summary:

The Horticulturist will be responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining gardens, landscapes, nurseries, and green spaces. The role involves cultivating plants, managing soil health, implementing sustainable horticultural practices, and ensuring aesthetic and ecological quality in outdoor and indoor plant environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, and implement horticultural layouts and landscaping projects.
  • Propagate, plant, prune, and maintain trees, shrubs, and flowers.
  • Monitor and manage plant health, including pest and disease control.
  • Conduct soil tests and recommend appropriate fertilizers or soil amendments.
  • Supervise irrigation systems and ensure efficient water use.
  • Oversee nursery operations including seedling production and plant propagation.
  • Manage seasonal planting schedules and ensure continuous greenery.
  • Maintain records of plant inventory, maintenance activities, and expenses.
  • Provide technical guidance to gardeners and landscaping staff.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.
  • Research and implement sustainable and innovative horticultural techniques.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Horticulture, Botany, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1–5 years of experience in horticulture, landscaping, or nursery management (may vary by role).
