HL7 Specialist/Consultant

Vexellab Solutions LLP is seeking an experienced, remote freelance HL7 Specialist/Consultant to provide expert support to our development team for an exciting new project in the medical field.

About the Role

This is a project-based, remote freelance role. You will be a key resource, leveraging your deep technical knowledge of HL7 standards to ensure our development team can successfully integrate and process medical data. Your expertise will be vital in translating clinical workflow requirements into technical specifications and ensuring interoperability.

What You'll Be Doing:

• HL7 Consulting: Serve as the subject matter expert for all HL7-related matters, providing guidance to the development team on best practices for implementation.

• Analysis and Design: Review, analyze, and interpret HL7 message types (e.g., ADT, ORU, ORM, etc.) and profiles to support system design and development.

• Interoperability Support: Assist with the design and testing of interfaces with external clinical systems, ensuring seamless data exchange.

• Troubleshooting: Help debug and resolve complex data and connectivity issues related to HL7 messaging.

• Documentation: Contribute to technical documentation outlining HL7 mappings and interface specifications.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven Experience (Required): Demonstrated working experience with HL7 standards (v2 and/or v3, FHIR experience is a plus).

• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of HL7 message structure, triggers, segments, and data types.
• Medical Domain Knowledge: Experience working on projects within the medical/healthcare technology field.

• Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to developers and non-technical stakeholders.

• Freelance/Remote Readiness: Ability to work independently and manage project-based deadlines remotely.
