Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Initiate and process
prior authorization requests
with insurance companies for medical procedures, medications, and services.
Verify
insurance eligibility and benefits
before initiating authorization.
Communicate with physicians offices, hospitals, and patients to gather necessary documentation.
Follow up with payers to obtain timely approvals and update authorization status in the system.
Document authorization details accurately in billing software and ensure compliance with payer requirements.
Collaborate with the billing and AR teams to minimize claim rejections and denials due to authorization issues.
Handle
denials and re-submissions
related to missing or invalid authorizations.
Maintain knowledge of insurance guidelines, payer policies, and updates related to prior authorization.

Key Skills Required

Strong knowledge of
US healthcare, RCM, and payer guidelines
.
Hands-on experience with
prior authorization processes
.
Excellent
communication skills
(verbal & written).
Good
analytical and problem-solving skills
.
Familiarity with
medical terminologies, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
(preferred).
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with
attention to detail
.
