Job Description

SUMMARY

Summary:

The Hardware Automation Engineer role is pivotal in designing and implementing scalable and maintainable infrastructure solutions. Based in Bangalore or Hyderabad, this position requires a seasoned professional with over 8 years of experience, including 5 years specifically in hardware automation. The role emphasizes expertise in tools like Ansible, Terraform, and scripting languages such as Shell or Python, to drive automation and configuration management. The engineer will play a crucial role in managing and automating hardware processes in data center environments, ensuring efficient and reliable infrastructure operations.

Location: Bangalore/Hyderabad

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement automation solutions using Ansible, Python, and other scripting tools.
Manage low-level hardware operations with tools like ipmitool for tasks such as power control, PXE booting, and firmware upgrades.
Design and maintain scalable infrastructure systems, focusing on Linux systems, networking, and Kubernetes.
Utilize GitOps workflows and tools to manage infrastructure pipelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware platform and SRE teams, to ensure seamless operations.
Monitor infrastructure performance and implement logging and drift detection mechanisms.
Engage in continuous improvement of CI/CD systems and Git-based pipelines.

Requirements

Requirements:

8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering and automation.
At least 5 years of hands-on experience with hardware automation.
Proficiency in Ansible, Terraform, and scripting languages like Shell or Python.
Strong understanding of Linux systems, networking, and Kubernetes infrastructure.
Experience with bare-metal automation in data center environments.
Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring and logging tools.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Bonus: Leadership experience, contributions to open-source projects, and knowledge of GPU-based compute stacks.

Mandatory Skills: Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Scripting - Shell/PowerShell/Python
