Highway Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Highway Engineer to plan, execute, and monitor highway and road construction projects in and around Karur District. The candidate should have hands-on experience in NH / SH / MDR road works, quality control, quantity measurements, and coordination with government authorities. Preference will be given to candidates currently residing in Tamil Nadu.

Key Responsibilities1. Project Execution

• Supervise highway, road, and infrastructure works (Earthwork, GSB, WMM, DBM, BC).
• Ensure work execution as per MoRTH, NHAI, and TN Highways specifications.
• Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, surveyors, and subcontractors.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.

2. Quality Control & Safety

• Ensure quality checks for materials like aggregates, bitumen, and soil.
• Monitor field tests (FDD, CBR, Marshall, Gradation, Core cutting).
• Ensure compliance with safety norms and site safety practices.

3. Quantity Surveying & Billing

• Check and certify measurements (MB entries).
• Assist in preparation of RA bills and final bills.
• Coordinate with client / consultant for approvals.

4. Coordination & Liaison

• Liaise with NHAI / TN Highways / Local Authorities.
• Attend site meetings and technical discussions.
• Support audits, inspections, and government reviews.

5. Planning & Documentation

• Assist in work scheduling and resource planning.
• Maintain drawings, DPRs, method statements, and test records.
• Support ISO / QA documentation if applicable.

Required Qualifications

• BE / BTech in Civil Engineering
• Diploma holders with strong highway experience may also be considered.

Experience Requirements

• 3 to 5 years experience in highway / road construction projects.
• Experience in NH, SH, PMGSY, or TN Highways projects preferred.
• Site-based experience mandatory.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of MoRTH specifications
• Familiar with AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Project
• Good understanding of billing, measurements, and QA/QC
• Ability to manage multiple site activities
• Good communication skills in Tamil (English basic working knowledge)

• Candidates from Tamil Nadu only
• Candidates willing to work in Karur & nearby districts
• Immediate or short notice period preferred
