Head - Service Centre

Role & responsibilities

1. Operations Management

• Oversee daily operations of the Steel Service Centre including slitting, shearing and cut-to-length lines.
• Ensure efficient and cost-effective production processes and timely order fulfilment.
• Optimize utilization of machines, manpower and materials to achieve production targets.

2. Planning & Coordination

• Prepare production plans in line with sales forecasts and customer orders.
• Coordinate with the sales, logistics and supply chain teams to ensure smooth workflow.
• Monitor machine availability and plan preventive maintenance in coordination with the maintenance team.

3. Quality & Safety

• Implement and monitor quality standards as per customer specifications and ISO requirements.
• Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Enforce safety practices and ensure compliance with statutory and internal safety norms.

4. People Management

• Lead a team of operators and support staff.
• Ensure timely training and skill development of the team.
• Promote a culture of discipline, safety and continuous improvement.

5. Inventory & Cost Control

• Monitor raw material and finished goods inventory.
• Minimize scrap, rework and downtime.
• Control operational costs and improve productivity.

6. Customer Interaction & Support

• Work closely with key customers to understand service requirements.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering quality products on time.
• Handle customer complaints and implement service improvements.

Experience:

Skills:

• Deep understanding of slitting, CTL, and shearing processes.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, production planning tools and quality systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and customer orientation.
