Role & responsibilities 1. Operations Management Oversee daily operations of the Steel Service Centre including slitting, shearing and cut-to-length lines. Ensure efficient and cost-effective production processes and timely order fulfilment. Optimize utilization of machines, manpower and materials to achieve production targets. 2. Planning & Coordination Prepare production plans in line with sales forecasts and customer orders. Coordinate with the sales, logistics and supply chain teams to ensure smooth workflow. Monitor machine availability and plan preventive maintenance in coordination with the maintenance team. 3. Quality & Safety Implement and monitor quality standards as per customer specifications and ISO requirements. Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and implement corrective actions. Ensure timely training and skill development of the team. Promote a culture of discipline, safety and continuous improvement. 5. Customer Interaction & Support Work closely with key customers to understand service requirements. Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering quality products on time. Handle customer complaints and implement service improvements. Preferred candidate profile Qualification : B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Metallurgy or relevant field. Experience: 12 to 18 years of experience in steel processing/service centre operations with at least 4 to 5 years in a leadership role. Skills: Deep understanding of slitting, CTL, and shearing processes. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Familiarity with ERP systems, production planning tools and quality systems. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Strong communication and customer orientation.
