1. Technical & Engineering Expertise

• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes (structural steel, piping, pressure vessels, tanks, modules, etc.)
  
• Understanding of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW) and welding metallurgy
  
• Expertise in material identification, traceability, and specifications (plates, beams, pipes, fittings)
  
• Familiarity with fabrication drawings, WPS, PQR, WQT
  
• Knowledge of codes & standards (ASME, AWS, ASTM, API, ISO)
  

2. Quality Assurance & Quality Control

• Development and implementation of QA/QC plans, ITPs, QAPs
  
• Conducting stage-wise inspections of fabrication activities
  
• NDT/NDE coordination (RT, UT, MT, PT, VT) and interpretation of results
  
• Nonconformance management (NCR, CAR, CAPA)
  
• Internal and external audits (client, third-party, ISO)
  
• Monitoring adherence to welding quality and dimensional tolerances
  

3. Documentation & Reporting

• Reviewing and approving QMS documentation
  
• Maintaining quality records, material certificates, WPS/PQR documentation
  
• Preparing inspection reports, test reports, weld maps, traceability records
  
• Preparation of final documentation (QC dossier / MDR)
  

4. Leadership & Team Management

• Leading QA/QC engineers, inspectors, and welding inspectors
  
• Coordinating with production, planning, project, and client teams
  
• Training and mentoring inspection personnel
  
• Allocating resources and managing workload efficiently
  

5. Client & Third-Party Coordination

• Liaising with client representatives, TPI agencies, and consultants
  
• Conducting pre-inspection meetings (PIM) and review meetings
  
• Ensuring client specifications and contract requirements are met
  

6. Problem Solving & Decision Making

• Root cause analysis for quality issues
  
• Implementing corrective and preventive actions
  
• Quick decision-making during critical fabrication stages
  

7. HSE & Compliance Awareness

• Ensuring fabrication QA/QC processes align with HSE requirements
  
• Promoting safe work practices during inspections
  

8. Software & Digital Tools

• Proficiency in MS Office, ERP, SAP, QA/QC software
  
• Ability to work with 2D/3D drawings (AutoCAD, Teklaoptional)
  
• Familiarity with digital inspection tools and reporting systems
