Job Profile:

The Head of Procurement is responsible for developing and leading the procurement strategy of the organization. This includes sourcing and purchasing goods, materials, and services at competitive prices while ensuring quality, sustainability, compliance, and timely delivery. The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, negotiation skills, and the ability to manage supplier relationships, mitigate risks, and optimize costs across the procurement function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership

• Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with company goals.
• Set procurement policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
• Lead initiatives to drive cost savings, supplier performance, and process improvements.

• Team Management

• Build and lead a high-performing procurement team.
• Define roles, KPIs, and performance benchmarks for the team.
• Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities.

• Supplier Management

• Establish strong supplier relationships and strategic partnerships.
• Evaluate, negotiate, and manage contracts and SLAs with suppliers and service providers.
• Monitor supplier performance and take corrective actions when necessary.

• Cost Control & Risk Mitigation

• Manage procurement budgets, track savings, and report on cost reductions.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks including geopolitical, financial, and operational risks.
• Ensure business continuity through multi-sourcing and contingency planning.

• Procurement Operations

• Oversee end-to-end procurement processes from requisition to delivery.
• Ensure timely and accurate procurement of goods and services.
• Leverage digital tools and e-procurement systems to streamline processes.

• Compliance & Ethics

• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policies.
• Promote ethical sourcing and sustainability initiatives across the supply chain.
• Conduct regular audits and risk assessments.

• Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Finance, Legal, Operations, and other departments to align procurement strategies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to forecast demand and manage inventory levels.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field (Masters preferred).
• Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, PMP) are a plus.
• Proven experience (typically 16+ years) in procurement, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of global sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiation, and supply chain principles.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) and procurement tools.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
