Head of Modern Trade

As Head of Modern Trade, you will own the Modern Trade channel end-to-end, driving sales growth, building strong partnerships with key customers, and ensuring excellent in-store execution. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable and profitable growth in line with Nabati Food’s expansion strategy in India.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and grow Modern Trade business across

  national and regional modern trade chains

  .
• Develop and execute channel strategy, annual business plans, and sales forecasts.
• Manage key customer relationships, including negotiations on commercials, promotions, and joint business plans.
• Drive strong in-store execution, visibility, and promotional effectiveness.
• Collaborate closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations teams.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Modern Trade sales team to achieve targets.
• Monitor performance, trade spends, and market trends to identify growth opportunities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).

• 10–15 years of experience

  in FMCG sales, with strong exposure to

  Modern Trade / Key Account Management in India

  .
• Proven experience managing large Modern Trade customers and regional chains.
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and ability to drive profitable growth.
• Leadership experience with a hands-on, execution-focused mindset.
• Willingness to be based in

  Mumbai or Chennai

  , with regular travel as required.
