Job Description

Major Duties :1. Manages an information services unit or function. Conducts the performance management process, identifies training and development needs, and establishes performance standards for the unit. 2. Determines staffing needs, makes hiring and firing decisions, handles salary administration, and ensures resources are available to accomplish priorities. 3. Participates in developing the business unit strategic plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit. Follows through to ensure objectives are met. 4. Develops unit(s) budget and manages the expenses for the unit. 5. Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment which encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication. 6. Manages several information service products and services including network management, operating systems, database systems, office automation, desktop technology, information security, systems development, and publication design. 7. Determines short and long term technology needs and develops a strategy for information services products and services. Anticipates obstacles and determines alternate strategies. 8. Understands banks business objectives and goals as they relate to the units products and services goals. Modifies products and services to meet the business objectives and develop solutions to obstacles presented. 9. Interfaces frequently with partners in all areas of the bank to identify needs and ensure products and services meet their needs. Knowledge :Knowledge of network management, operating systems, database systems, information technology concepts, and publication techniques, usually acquired through related work experience, is necessary to provide technical expertise to the area. Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the units goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of the staff.
