Head of Engineering

We are looking for a highly skilled and strategic Team Lead to oversee our cross-functional development team. You will be responsible for guiding the architecture, development, and delivery of our iOS and Android applications, web platforms, APIs, and data systems. Your role will involve ensuring technical excellence, providing strong leadership, and aligning engineering efforts with business objectives within a complex, data-driven environment. As the Team Lead, your key responsibilities will include leading and mentoring a diverse team of developers spanning mobile, web, backend, and databases. You will drive agile practices such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives while cultivating a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement. Additionally, you will oversee the architecture of scalable, secure, and performant systems, ensuring smooth integration between various components and guiding code contributions and system designs. Collaboration is essential in this role, as you will work closely with product managers, designers, and data analysts to translate the product vision into robust and scalable solutions. You will also collaborate with different departments to align requirements, timelines, and delivery goals. Project management will be a key aspect of your role, including managing project timelines, resource allocation, and tracking milestones, while also anticipating risks and implementing mitigation strategies. In terms of qualifications, we are looking for candidates with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with at least 12 years of experience in software development with exposure to full-stack development. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in leading cross-functional teams in mobile, web, and backend development, with strong hands-on knowledge in areas such as mobile development (Swift for iOS, Kotlin/Java for Android), backend technologies (Node.js/Python/Java), frontend frameworks (React/Vue/Angular), databases (SQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL), and cloud services/DevOps tools (AWS/GCP, Docker, CI/CD pipelines). Preferred attributes for this role include excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, experience in fast-paced startup environments, a passion for clean architecture and system design, and a deep understanding of security, performance optimization, and scalability.
