The Head of Department (HOD) in the School of Engineering is responsible for leading academic, administrative, and developmental activities of the department. The HOD ensures the effective delivery of curriculum, promotes research and innovation, and maintains industry-academia collaboration. The role involves strategic planning, faculty development, and fostering a student-centric learning environment.
Provide academic leadership and oversee curriculum planning, implementation, and quality assurance.
Supervise and guide faculty in teaching, research, and professional development.Promote interdisciplinary research, consultancy, and industry collaborations.Coordinate departmental meetings, faculty recruitment, workload distribution, and mentoring.Foster student engagement, monitor academic performance, and resolve grievances.Manage departmental budgeting, resources, labs, and infrastructure needs.Organize workshops, conferences, seminars, and FDPs for faculty and students.Facilitate internships, placements, and linkages with industry and alumni.Prepare periodic reports and strategic plans, and contribute to institutional development goals.
