Role Overview

Head Debt Syndication

This leadership role will involve managing a team of professionals and collaborating closely with the CEO and senior partners to grow the firm’s debt franchise, enhance product offerings, and ensure consistent deal conversions and closures.

Key Responsibilities

1. Origination & Business Development

• Develop and maintain high-level relationships with corporate promoters, CFOs, and financial intermediaries.
• Source and originate mandates for fund-raising across term loans, structured debt, NCDs, project finance, and refinance.
• Build and expand the firm’s lender/investor network – Banks, NBFCs, Mutual Funds, Credit Funds, Special Situation Funds, and Family Offices.
• Identify opportunities for bespoke and special-situation financing across sectors.

2. Deal Structuring & Execution

• Evaluate creditworthiness, cash flows, and security structures to design tailored financing solutions.
• Develop detailed term sheets, financial models, and transaction documentation.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders — credit, legal, risk, and compliance — to ensure smooth closure.
• Lead negotiations on pricing, structure, and terms with lenders and borrowers.

3. Syndication & Distribution

• Lead end-to-end syndication process — from lender identification and marketing to allocation and final closure.
• Design syndication strategies to optimize pricing, investor mix, and transaction timelines.
• Leverage Organization’s ’s NBFC and digital distribution platform to maximize deal visibility and reach.

4. Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and mentor a team of Vice Presidents, Associates, and Analysts within the Debt Syndication vertical.
• Drive performance culture through goal setting, pipeline management, and regular feedback.
• Represent Organization’s in industry forums, lender events, and client engagements.

5. Strategic Initiatives

• Work with the CEO and senior management on product innovation in structured debt, special situations, and alternative credit.
• Contribute to strategic alliances with lenders, funds, and rating agencies.
• Provide insights on evolving credit markets, investor appetite, and regulatory developments.

Desired Experience & Skills

Must-Have:

• 12–18 years of experience in

  Debt Syndication, Corporate Credit, Structured Finance, or Investment Banking

  .
• Proven track record of originating and closing large-ticket transactions across sectors.
• Strong relationships with banks, NBFCs, funds, and institutional investors.
• Deep understanding of credit appraisal, financial structuring, security creation, and documentation.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
• Team leadership experience with ability to manage multiple mandates concurrently.

Preferred:

• Exposure to AIF / Special Situation / Private Credit structures.
• Experience with NBFCs, financial sponsors, or rating agencies.
• Professional qualifications such as
