Job Description

Clinical Leadership

  • Supervise and support intensivists, consultants, residents, and nursing staff.
  • Conduct and oversee daily structured ICU rounds.
  • Provide hands-on care in complex cases and function as the final point of clinical escalation.
  • Formulate and periodically review evidence-based protocols for:
  • Sepsis, ARDS, ventilation, multi-organ support
  • Post-operative ICU care and end-of-life management

Administrative Oversight

  • Plan and manage ICU rosters and staffing requirements.
  • Coordinate with biomedical engineering for ICU equipment functionality and upgrades.
  • Monitor ICU KPIs: occupancy, infection rates, LOS, mortality, readmission rates.
  • Ensure compliance with NABH/NABL and other ICU accreditation standards.
  • Develop and implement SOPs for ICU operations.

Quality Assurance & Patient Safety

  • Lead initiatives in antimicrobial stewardship, infection control, and patient safety audits.
  • Standardize measures to reduce ICU complications (e.g., VAP, CLABSI, pressure injuries).
  • Participate in and lead M&M reviews, RCA of adverse events, and CPR audits.

Training & Capacity Building

  • Conduct CME programs, mock drills (code blue), and workshops.
  • Mentor MD/DNB residents, fellows, and ICU nursing staff.
  • Facilitate team certifications in BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and FCCS.

Interdepartmental Coordination

  • Collaborate with Emergency, Surgery, Cardiology, Nephrology, and Anaesthesia departments.
  • Support ICU infrastructure development and technology adoption.
  • Ensure smooth post-op ICU transfers and multidisciplinary care delivery.

Public Health & Community Engagement

  • Assist in disaster preparedness planning and emergency response frameworks.
  • Represent the hospital in campaigns related to sepsis, critical illness awareness, and organ donation.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications:

  • MBBS + MD/DNB in Anaesthesia, General Medicine, Pulmonary or Emergency Medicine.
  • DM/DNB in Critical Care or equivalent Fellowship (IDCCM, IFCCM, FCCS, FNB preferred).

Experience:

  • 3–5+ years of post-MD experience in ICU leadership.
  • Proven experience in managing MICU, SICU, and HDU in secondary/tertiary care settings.

Key Competencies

  • Advanced proficiency in ventilation, ECMO, CRRT, ABG, and invasive monitoring.
  • Strong leadership and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
  • Crisis management and ethical decision-making abilities.
  • Fluency in ICU documentation and medico-legal frameworks.
  • Strategic and administrative acumen including resource and budget optimization.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹250,000.00 - ₹350,000.00 per month

Schedule:

  • Rotational shift

Supplemental Pay:

  • Commission pay
