Job Description

Job Title: Head of Business Development Pharma About the Role: We are seeking a highly experienced and compliance-focused Head of Business Development (Pharma Healthcare) to lead the growth of our logistics services within the pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare sectors
This senior leadership role requires deep expertise in Pharma supply chain dynamics, particularly cold chain logistics, GDP (Good Distribution Practice), and regulatory compliance
The Head of BD will be responsible for driving new revenue, managing and expanding existing Pan-India accounts (KAM/GAM), overseeing complex RFQs and tendering, and coaching the specialized sales team to be industry experts
Key Responsibilities: 1
Strategic Business Management Growth New Business Acquisition: Aggressively identify and secure new enterprise clients in the Pharma ecosystem (Manufacturers, CROs, Distributors, Hospitals, Labs)
Solution Selling: Design and sell specialized logistics solutions tailored for the Pharma sector, focusing on: Cold Chain Temperature Control: Active and passive packaging solutions
Regulatory Compliance: Adherence to national and international healthcare logistics standards
High-Value/Sensitive Shipments: Clinical trial logistics, biological samples, and life-saving drugs
Account Management: Function as both the Key Account Manager (KAM) for major clients and the Growth Account Manager (GAM) to scale high-potential accounts across Pan-India
Tendering RFQs: Take complete ownership of the RFQ and tendering process, leading complex proposals, detailed service level agreement (SLA) negotiations, and contract closures

Operational Internal Coordination Internal Alignment: Coordinate regularly with Regional Sales Managers (RSM), Zonal Sales Managers (ZSM), Territory Sales Managers (TSM), and the Direct Party (DP) Team to ensure strict adherence to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), cold chain protocols, and quality standards for all Pharma shipments
Quality Assurance Compliance: Collaborate closely with Operations and Quality teams to develop and maintain auditable supply chain processes that meet client and regulatory body requirements (e
g
, track-and-trace, validation reports)
Stakeholder Management: Maintain strategic relationships with Procurement, Supply Chain, and Quality stakeholders at client organizations

Industry Expertise Team Leadership Industry Expert: Serve as the internal and external authority, leveraging deep Pharma/Healthcare logistics expertise to consult with clients and design value-added services
Analytical Contribution: Employ a strong analytical understanding of freight lanes, regulatory changes, and cost structures to optimize service offerings and add quantifiable value to the business
Team Training Coaching: Train and coach the sales and business development team on current Good Distribution Practice (GDP), temperature excursions handling, security protocols, and specialized Pharma sales techniques
Key Qualifications Requirements: 10+ years of progressive experience in Business Development, Strategic Sales, or Alliances, with a significant focus on the Pharmaceutical/Healthcare logistics sector
Mandatory Expertise: Proven, in-depth knowledge of Cold Chain Management, GDP, and regulatory compliance in the Indian Pharma supply chain
Demonstrated success in closing high-value enterprise contracts and managing the full, often complex, RFQ/tendering cycle in the Pharma domain
Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and team coaching skills
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage complex, security-sensitive, Pan-India accounts and align commitments with the DP Team and operational compliance
