Reporting to- DIRECTOR-TECHNICAL

Qualification- •Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (Mandatory).. •Master’s degree preferred but not mandatory..

Experience

20 years Strong capability in handling MEP services layout coordination through BIM/AutoCAD, resolving site constraints, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and statutory norms. Adept in monitoring project progress, preparing technical reports, handling inspections, and ensuring strict adherence to HSE standards.

Position Overview

The Senior MEP Coordinator will be responsible for leading, planning, and coordinating all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire-Fighting works for large-scale Data Centre and Industrial projects. The role requires strong technical expertise, design coordination skills, site execution knowledge, and the ability to drive cross-functional teams to ensure timely and quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Coordination

  • Lead end-to-end coordination of all MEP services for Data Centre and Industrial projects.

  • Review GFC drawings, technical specifications, and highlight discrepancies for resolution.

  • Prepare MEP coordination schedules aligned with overall project timelines.

  • Coordinate with design consultants, architects, OEMs, and internal stakeholders for seamless integration of services.

2. Technical Review & Design Interface

  • Validate MEP designs, load calculations, equipment selections, and single-line diagrams.

  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards (ASHRAE, IEC, NBC, IS codes) and client requirements.

  • Coordinate BIM/3D model reviews and clash detection with design teams.

3. Site Execution Management

  • Monitor installation activities for HVAC, Electrical (HT/LT), ELV, Fire Fighting, Plumbing, and related systems.

  • Ensure proper sequencing and avoid conflicts among various MEP services.

  • Resolve technical issues on-site and provide engineering solutions.

  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to specifications.

4. Vendor & Contractor Management

  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely material delivery and installation.

  • Review method statements, shop drawings, and work procedures.

  • Validate BOQs, material submittals, and equipment approvals.

5. Testing, Commissioning & Handover

  • Lead testing & commissioning of all MEP systems including HVAC, electrical systems, precision cooling, UPS, DGs, VFDs, fire detection, and suppression systems.

  • Ensure integrated system testing (IST) for Data Centre projects.

  • Prepare and validate as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover documentation.

6. Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure strict adherence to MEP quality standards and safety norms.

  • Validate installation against reference standards and approved drawings.

  • Coordinate for audits and inspections by clients/consultants.

7. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare weekly/monthly MEP progress reports.

  • Track material consumption, man-power deployment, and productivity.

  • Maintain proper documentation for approvals, inspections, and commissioning activities.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Data Centre MEP systems (Precision Cooling, UPS, DG, STS/PDU, Fire Suppression, BMS, Chilled Water Systems).

  • Excellent coordination skills across multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Expertise in interpreting design drawings, specifications, and MEP layouts.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, BIM/Revit interface, and MS Project/Primavera.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Good communication and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

  • BE/B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (mandatory).

  • Certifications in Data Centre technologies (DCIM, Uptime, BICSI) preferred.

  • 15–20 years of experience with at least 5–7 years in Data Centre or Industrial Projects.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience working with top-tier EPC/General Contracting companies.

  • Proven track record of coordinating MEP systems in high-density data centres, industrial plants, or large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Ability to manage multiple teams, resolve technical conflicts, and deliver projects within time and cost targets.
