Head Mechanic HEMM

Job Summary:

Minsol Limited is seeking an experienced and capable Head Mechanic to lead the maintenance and repair operations of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) at our project site. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing mining and construction equipment, along with team supervision capability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage day-to-day maintenance and repair activities of all HEMM equipment including Excavators, Dozers, Tippers, Graders, and Water Sprinklers.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs as per operational requirements.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in heavy machinery and recommend effective solutions.
• Ensure availability and readiness of HEMM equipment for uninterrupted site operations.
• Maintain detailed service, repair, and maintenance records for each machine.
• Plan and schedule preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
• Monitor inventory of spare parts and raise requisitions for required components.
• Enforce compliance with company safety standards, procedures, and statutory norms during maintenance activities.
• Guide and train junior mechanics and fitters in safe and effective maintenance practices.
• Coordinate with site supervisors and operational staff for maintenance planning and equipment deployment.
• Ensure timely reporting of critical machine faults and breakdowns to the Project Manager and management.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in HEMM maintenance in mining, construction, or infrastructure projects.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems of HEMM equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for Excavators, Dozers, Tippers, Graders, and other heavy machinery.
• Proven experience in managing a team of mechanics and fitters.
• Ability to maintain maintenance records, service logs, and inventory registers.
• Physically fit and capable of working in demanding site conditions.
• Familiarity with site safety norms and maintenance documentation procedures
