Job Overview PSGRKCW is seeking a Head of Costume Design and Fashion, located in Coimbatore, to join our prestigious institution. This full-time, senior-level position requires 7 to 10 years of work experience. The role focuses on leading the costume design department, driving curriculum development, and ensuring a high standard of education in fashion design. Qualifications And Skills Proven expertise in fashion design and costume construction, with demonstrated successful projects and a creative portfolio. Experience in curriculum development, focused on integrating modern trends and traditional techniques. (Mandatory skill) Strong knowledge of textiles including fibers, weaving methods, and dyeing techniques essential for costume design efficiency. Leadership experience in managing and inspiring a team of designers, faculty, and students to achieve academic and creative goals. Proficiency in fashion illustration, capable of conveying design concepts clearly through sketches and digital media tools. Ability to foster collaborations with international academic institutions to enhance educational and cultural exchange. Deep understanding of India's costume history and ethnic wear to develop culturally rich and historically accurate designs. Excellent communication and organizational skills, capable of handling multiple responsibilities and maintaining a structured department. Roles And Responsibilities Oversee the design and implementation of the costume design curriculum to align with industry standards and educational goals. Lead a team of faculty and work collaboratively to enhance the department's status as a leader in fashion education. Conduct workshop sessions and lectures in fashion design, providing in-depth knowledge and practical skills to students. Develop partnerships with fashion industry leaders to offer experiential learning opportunities for students. Organize and manage exhibitions and fashion shows, highlighting student and faculty work to both academic and public audiences. Mentor students in their design projects, offering guidance to refine their vision and technique towards career readiness. Ensure the department stays updated with the latest fashion trends, technology advancements, and educational methodologies.
