Head of Business Development

The role aims to establish a strong and sustainable business pipeline by creating value-driven propositions, enhancing brand visibility, and building partnerships that support market expansion. A key part of the objective is to align business development initiatives with the companys long-term vision, ensuring both top-line and bottom-line growth.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership:

    Formulate and implement business development strategies aligned with organizational goals across multiple industries.
  • Market Expansion:

    Identify new markets, segments, and opportunities for growth; create tailored go-to-market strategies for diverse sectors.
  • Client Acquisition & Retention:

    Drive client acquisition, build long-term partnerships, and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Revenue Growth:

    Achieve business targets by converting opportunities into sustainable revenue streams.
  • Partnership Development:

    Forge strategic alliances with industry leaders, channel partners, and key stakeholders to strengthen market presence.
  • Team Leadership:

    Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing business development and sales teams; foster a performance-driven culture.
  • Market Intelligence:

    Analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and customer insights to refine business development plans.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    Work closely with operations, finance, product, and marketing teams to ensure end-to-end business success.
  • Negotiation & Deal Closure:

    Lead high-value negotiations, contract finalizations, and strategic deals with senior stakeholders.
  • Brand Positioning:

    Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to enhance visibility and reputation.
  • Performance Tracking:

    Define KPIs, monitor progress, and ensure consistent achievement of business goals.

Candidate Criteria – Business Development Head

Education & Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Business Management; MBA preferred.
  • Strong understanding of sales, marketing, and business development processes.

Experience

  • 15–20 years of progressive experience in Business Development, Sales, or Strategic Partnerships.
  • Proven track record of driving growth and leading BD initiatives in

    Automotive, Electronics, White Goods, and Engineering industries

    .
  • Experience in managing multi-sector client portfolios and large revenue responsibilities.
  • Exposure to global / multinational environments preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to design and execute growth strategies across industries.
  • Excellent client relationship management, networking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven negotiation, contract management, and deal closure expertise.
  • Leadership skills with experience in building, mentoring, and motivating cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market trends, competition, and customer insights.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
