Head Accountant

Role & responsibilities

1. Oversee and manage the entire accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
2. Finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts in compliance with accounting standards.
3. Monitor accounts payable, receivables, vendor reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
4. Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis to support management decision-making.
5. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other applicable laws.
6. Manage payroll processing, employee reimbursements, and related statutory compliances (PF, ESI, PT, etc.).
7. Coordinate with auditors (statutory, internal, and tax) and ensure smooth completion of audits.
8. Review and approve journal entries, invoices, and payment runs.
9. Monitor cash flow, working capital, and fund management for day-to-day operations.
10. Implement and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
11. Provide accurate MIS reports, variance analysis, and financial insights to management.
12. Supervise and mentor junior accountants, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily operations.
13. Liaise with banks, tax authorities, and external stakeholders for financial matters.
14. Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial data.

Preferred candidate profile

1. Educational Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) / Cost & Management Accountant (CMA) preferred, OR MBA (Finance) / M.Com with strong accounting and financial management background.

2. Experience: 710 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, taxation, and compliance, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership/supervisory role handling a team of accountants.

3. Skills & Competencies: In-depth knowledge of Accounting Standards expertise in GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliance, proficiency in Tally ERP/SAP, strong analytical and decision-making skills, excellent communication and stakeholder management ability, advanced MS Excel, and proven ability to lead and motivate a finance team.
