Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Hadoop Specialist. The professional in this role will be responsible for designing, building, and managing Hadoop-based solutions to support big data and analytics projects. Day-to-day tasks include data processing, system optimization, cluster configuration, ensuring data security, and troubleshooting. The Hadoop Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop workflows, analyze data structures, and maintain robust data pipelines for optimal performance and scalability.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Hadoop ecosystem tools such as HDFS, Hive, HBase, and Apache Pig
• Strong skills in Spark, MapReduce programming, and data integration
• Experience in designing and managing scalable data pipelines and workflows
• Knowledge of system optimization, cluster configuration, and troubleshooting solutions
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance tuning for big data solutions
• Understanding of data security, authentication, and authorization in big data environments
• Competency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Scala
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for big data solutions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field; a relevant certification in big data technologies is a plus
