Job Summary: The Grounds Incharge at Bloomingdale International School is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of the school's outdoor areas, including lawns, gardens, playgrounds, and sports fields. This role ensures that all outdoor spaces are safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing, contributing to a positive environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Grounds Maintenance:

• Oversee the daily maintenance of all outdoor areas, including lawns, gardens, playgrounds, and sports fields.

• Ensure proper watering, fertilization, mowing, trimming, and weeding of green spaces.

• Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule and perform regular upkeep tasks.

• Safety and Compliance:

• Inspect outdoor areas regularly to identify potential safety hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

• Implement and enforce safety protocols for grounds maintenance activities.

• Equipment Management:

• Manage the inventory, maintenance, and repair of groundskeeping equipment and tools.

• Ensure all equipment is used safely and stored properly.

• Staff Supervision:

• Supervise and coordinate the work of groundskeeping staff and external contractors.

• Provide training and guidance to staff on best practices for grounds maintenance.

• Budget and Resource Management:

• Assist in preparing and managing the budget for grounds maintenance activities.

• Ensure cost-effective use of resources and manage procurement of supplies and equipment.

• Landscape Planning and Development:

• Work with the school administration to plan and implement landscaping projects that enhance the school’s outdoor environment.

• Oversee the planting of trees, shrubs, and flowers, and ensure their proper care and growth.

• Event Support:

• Assist in the setup and cleanup of outdoor areas for school events and activities.

• Ensure that all outdoor facilities are prepared and maintained for sports events, assemblies, and other functions.

• Waste Management:

• Implement and manage waste disposal and recycling programs for outdoor areas.

• Ensure that all outdoor areas are free of litter and debris.

• Communication and Reporting:

• Maintain clear communication with the Administrative Manager regarding grounds maintenance activities and any issues that arise.

• Provide regular reports on the condition of outdoor areas and maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in horticulture, landscaping, or grounds management preferred.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping.

• Knowledge of plants, gardening techniques, and groundskeeping equipment.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to lead and supervise a team.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Physical ability to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions.

Working Conditions:
