Job Description

As an Electrical Grid Expert at ENGIE, reporting to the Head of Engineering, your role involves being the Subject Matter Expert for grid connection of medium, high, and Extra high voltage systems, as well as medium-voltage lines. You will need to stay updated on policy changes and ensure compliance with industry best practices, international and local standards, and Engie's contractual requirements. This position is based in Pune with potential business trips in India and overseas. **Key Responsibilities:** - Review grid management, PSS, GSS, and Balance of Plant (BoP) design, drawings, and document submissions from EPC contractors, ensuring compliance with standards - Manage contractual negotiations during Business Development of technical-related agreements/bids - Ensure timely and high-quality submission of grid connection deliverables - Support procurement, design, installation, commissioning, and testing of wind farm grid monitoring equipment and control systems - Review and align tender specifications as per requirements - Proactively support solar PV and wind projects through development and construction phases regarding grid-related matters - Develop a technical understanding of electrical characteristics of Solar, Wind & Storage Solutions products - Support the development of transmission and distribution connected products based on evolving codes and standards - Prepare engineering calculations following standard methods and principles - Liaise with stakeholders to optimize grid connection arrangements - Establish relationships with grid stakeholders and local grid network operators - Prepare and review Solar PV Layouts/SLD, engineering calculations, OEM vendor drawings, and SCADA documents - Work closely with procurement and construction teams based on strategies - Prepare BOQ and comparisons for projects, coordinate with various departments - Conduct factory and site visits for equipment evaluation and project progress - Prepare SOPs and Checklists for various processes - Support Construction Managers and Plant Managers for project-related issues - Actively resolve grid connection issues in a timely manner - Perform technology watch and share knowledge within the team **Qualification Required:** - Master/Bachelor degree in engineering from an AICTE recognized University - Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in the power generation sector, preferably in the Renewable/Solar & Wind sector - Expertise in grid operations, grid infrastructure, and designing/reviewing GSS, PSS, and BoP in solar PV projects - Familiarity with software tools like PSCAD, PSS/E, ETAP, DigSILENT - Understanding of technical regulations, conceptual designs, and electrical grid code topics - Experience in grid connection studies and tendering in different regions would be advantageous At ENGIE, you will need to demonstrate good people management skills, be flexible, meticulous, and a good planner. Your proactive approach, stress resistance, and ability to challenge the status quo will contribute to your success in this role. Strong communication, organizational, and technical skills are essential for thriving under pressure and delivering high-quality work while managing multiple projects simultaneously.,
