As a Grid Expert - Electrical-Solar in Pune with ENGIE, you will report to the Head of Engineering and be responsible for overseeing all ENGIE activities in India and other project countries. Your role will involve being a Subject Matter Expert on grid connection for medium, high, and extra high voltage systems, as well as medium-voltage lines, staying updated on policy changes, and ensuring compliance. Based in Pune, you may travel for business within India and overseas. Your main responsibilities include reviewing grid management, design, and document submissions, overseeing contractual negotiations during Business Development, and ensuring timely and high-quality grid connection deliverables. You will be involved in the procurement, design, installation, commissioning, and testing of wind farm grid monitoring equipment and control systems. Additionally, you will review tender specifications, support solar PV and wind projects, develop technical understanding of power electronics products, and participate in industry standards groups for innovative power equipment design. Key Responsibilities: P roject Scope Leadership: Lead end-to-end electrical execution for ACBOS, DCBOS, PSS, GSS, and EHV systems, including 400kV substations and transmission lines. Design and Engineering Coordination: Review and validate all electrical designs, layouts, protection schemes, and interface points for AC/DC systems and high-voltage grid connections. Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and quality teams to optimize design and ensure constructability. Construction Execution: Supervise electrical construction activities from installation to testing and commissioning for: DCBOS: DC cabling, combiner boxes, string inverters, SCBs. ACBOS: Transformers, switchgear, HT panels, and cabling. PSS/GSS: 33/220/400kV substations, control rooms, and SCADA. EHV/400kV Lines: Switchyards, gantries, bays, transmission line interfaces. Commissioning/Testing: Coordinate with relevant authorities for pre-commissioning, testing, and synchronization of 400kV systems. HSE & Quality Oversight: Ensure strict compliance with electrical safety standards, quality protocols, and statutory regulations. Team Management: Lead a multidisciplinary electrical execution team, including site engineers, supervisors, and contractors. Ensure daily progress tracking and alignment with project milestones. Experience: - Minimum 12 years in electrical construction, with at least 8 years in utility-scale solar projects. - Proven track record of leading 1 GW+ cumulative capacity. - Hands-on experience in 400kV substation and transmission line execution and commissioning. Technical Skills: - Deep understanding of ACBOS/DCBOS systems and grid substation design (PSS/GSS). - Proficient in electrical drawings (SLDs, GA, layout, schematics) and protection coordination. - Familiarity with IEC, IS, and CEA standards and grid codes. MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The missions & responsibilities of the Electrical Grid Expert are : Review of Grid management ,PSS, GSS and Balance of Plant (BoP) design, drawing and document submissions from EPC contractors against industry best practice, law, international and local standards, in addition to Engie' contractual and interfacing requirements from the perspective of grid connection compliance with advanced grid solutions; In charge of all aspects and documentation of the contractual negotiations during Business Development of all Technical-related agreements/bids etc. Ensure grid connection deliverables required to be submitted by Engie are provided in a timely, safe, and high-quality manner; Undertake and support the procurement, design, installation, commissioning, and testing of wind farm grid monitoring equipment, and control systems; Review tender specifications during the bid and align as per the requirement; Pro-actively and autonomously support large-scale solar PV projects/Wind project through development and construction with respect to all grid related matters; Review the Grid Codes for different operating entities/owners across the world and develop a product compliance matrix; Develop a technical understanding of the electrical characteristics of the Solar, Wind & Storage Solutions power electronics products and their integration into electrical grids; Support continuous development of transmission and distribution connected products based on evolving codes, standards and regulations through participation in industry standards groups and leading innovative approaches to power equipment design; Prepare complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles Knowledge of various IS, IEC, IEEE and grid codes etc standards related to the Engineering deliverables.
