Responsibilities and Duties

• Work independently to drive the overall control of master data in the Finance domain, collaborating with other Global Data Stewards and Business Data Owners.
• Set and implement data governance within Finance Master Data structure, and chair the Data Board for Finance Master Data with key business data owners, global process owners, and other data stewards.
• Review, impact assess, and approve/reject data requests for Finance Master Data that are outside of standard operations, providing alternative approaches where required.
• Provide Finance Master Data domain-specific expertise to the MDM leadership team to enable high-quality decision making.
• Mediate the resolution of escalated data issues within Finance Master Data and support other data stewards in case of cross-domain impact.
• Implement data policies, standards, and processes within Finance Master Data.
• Conduct impact/root cause analysis for incoming data governance requests.
• Recommend data quality rules, cleansing, and remediation strategies, and drive remediation with relevant data owners.
• Coordinate data cleansing activities in Finance Master Data to reduce rework and errors within financial processes.
• Communicate data governance landscape clearly to evaluate all requests.
• Propagate communication from MDM leadership to domain/subdomain work groups and maintain open dialogue with business data owners and global process owners.
• Engage work groups in data governance decisions and ensure necessary actions are carried out, tracking progress and delivering to plan.
• Champion the data agenda in Finance Master Data and become a data advocate.

Skills and Qualifications

• Deep knowledge in Finance Master Data and data constructs (e.g., Chart of Accounts, Cost Centers, Profit Centers, Internal Orders, Financial Transactions).
• Respected and influential in the finance domain.
• Strong business partnering with Business Data Owners and delegates, leveraging data operations team as needed.
• Strong technical knowledge of financial systems and data structures.
• Conflict resolution and collaboration skills across MDM and stakeholder teams.
• 2+ years of experience in finance or data governance, ideally with SAP S/4HANA.
• Strong analytical mindset and creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and across geographies and cultures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex data concepts to diverse audiences.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.

Reporting Relationships

Finance Data Stewards report within the MDM leadership team with a dotted line to the Finance Business Data Owner.
