Job Title: Girls' Hostel Warden

Role Overview

The Female Warden is responsible for ensuring the safety, discipline, and overall well-being of girl students residing in the hostel. The role involves maintaining order, fostering a caring environment, supporting academic and personal growth, and coordinating with teaching and administrative staff for smooth hostel functioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure Student Safety: Maintain a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for all female students in the hostel.
  • Supervise & Monitor: Oversee daily routines, including wake-up, study hours, meals, and lights-out, ensuring discipline and punctuality.
  • Emergency Response: Address incidents such as illnesses, injuries, or conflicts promptly and effectively, administering first aid when required.
  • Maintain Order & Discipline: Enforce hostel and school rules with fairness, while promoting respect, responsibility, and good conduct among students.
  • Student Support: Provide emotional and personal guidance to students, helping them adjust to hostel life and supporting their mental well-being.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, leave requests, and other hostel documentation.
  • Parent & Teacher Coordination: Communicate effectively with parents and teachers regarding student concerns, progress, and well-being.
  • Support School Operations: Assist teachers and administrators as needed, including supervision during school hours and transitions.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Incident Reporting: Zero serious incidents in the hostel.
  • Emergency Response: Timely and effective response to emergencies (within 5 minutes).
  • Administrative Accuracy: 99% accuracy in maintaining hostel records and attendance tracking.
  • Student Well-being: 95% student satisfaction in emotional support and conflict resolution.
  • Parent Communication: Respond to all parent inquiries and concerns within 24 hours (100% response rate).
  • Teacher Collaboration: 90% teacher satisfaction in cooperation and student-related support.

Skills

Strong sense of responsibility, empathy, leadership, student counseling, conflict management, discipline enforcement, communication, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Education, Psychology, or Social Work preferred).
  • Prior experience as a warden or matron in a residential school or hostel setting is desirable.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures, first aid, and child protection protocols.
