Geotechnical Engineer

You will be joining Dar Al-Handasah (Shair and Partners), a leading international consultancy with a rich history dating back to 1956. As part of the Dar Group, a global consortium of professional service firms, you will play a crucial role in providing planning, design, management, and consultancy services for a diverse range of projects worldwide. As a Geotechnical Engineer in the Geotechnical & Heavy Civil Engineering department, you will leverage your 10 to 18 years of experience to showcase your strong technical capabilities in various geotechnical services. Your responsibilities will include planning subsurface investigations, reviewing geotechnical reports, designing foundations, analyzing slope stability, and implementing ground improvement techniques. Knowledge of MSE wall design and familiarity with international codes and standards will be essential in this role. You will actively participate in technical meetings with clients and contractors to address design and construction issues, conduct value engineering exercises, and respond to queries effectively. Your excellent organizational skills, report writing abilities, and verbal communication will be pivotal in your interactions with stakeholders. Furthermore, your experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff, coupled with project management expertise, will be highly beneficial. To excel in this position, you must demonstrate professional judgment, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities. Your track record of successfully managing small and large-scale projects will be a testament to your capabilities. Additionally, a background in civil (geotechnical) or geological engineering from an accredited university is preferred, with a PhD in the Geotechnical field being advantageous.
